i'm not dieting, but i have lost a few pounds. why is it, then, that my pants are tighter? no matter what i do, the belt area is tighter and tighter and tighter? UUGH! i hate pants. can i just do elastic now? here's to mom pants. (just kidding. i'm just glad i can wear PJs 90% of the time. today, though, i'm going out to lunch, which requires me to wear something other than PJs. and it must be my dryer, because not only are my pants getting tighter, they are also shorter. and i know i'm not getting any taller...)

  1. Yeah...blame the dryer. It's my favorite culprit, too :-)
Seriously, I noticed the other day that my pants seemed shorter (and I only have them dry cleaned). I thought one was supposed to shrink as one aged, not grow?

BTW, I've also noticed things have "shifted around" on me in the past year or two. Getting older, I guess.

Altho you are still a chickadee compared to me!

  2. Great picture. What is going on? Tighter pants is never a good thing. Here is a funny take on that:

I have two pairs of jeans I wear all the time. Both were starting to be too big (thanks to weight loss), so I put them in the dryer ( I NEVER dry my pants) They shrunk like I knew they would, but unfortunately I put back on a few pounds and now they were too tight! So I wondered if I could reverse the damage. Sure enough next time I washed them I hung them to dry, and it was like they were back to normal!! Who knew you could have this much control!

Now I am happy to report I have lost enough weight again that they are now way too big, and I have been putting them back in the dryer. I am certain they have shrunk down a full size.

My advice? Wear lots of skirts and dresses! They are so much more flattering for everyone.

  4. Another funny take/story...

I was in the bathroom this morning (using the urinal), and when I went to close, lost/blew off a button... Fortunately, they were my 32 khakis (and, see my original/first Yahoo! blog, but khakis and urinals still don't go together... It was a bad bathroom experience all around, with the splashback and button blowout...).

So, when you find the elastic mom pants, pick me up an old man elastic pair! ;)
