made 5-1/2 pints of greap (pronounced gree-op) jelly today from dad's black grapes (black beauty muscadine). boy is it pretty.
i know this is a bad angled photo, but i wanted you to see how clear it is: you can see the underside of the lid!!!
Are you sealing those jars with the wax lids? You know, once you seal them, I don't think you have to keep the rings on them until you open them... ;) (Experience from watching my grandma can over 500 jars of any and every different fruit and vegetable that can be canned this summer, for sale at her church bazaar... ;)
The color reminds me of the wine we get sometimes from Rock of Ages; it is a semi-sweet red made from that same grape. The wine's pretty good, so, the jelly has to be, too!
Really pretty. I know it tastes just like the grape....which is absolutely delicious!
