preferred shopping spots
we all have our favorite stores... you know, the place you can go to ALWAYS find a pair of jeans that fit.
back in college, my favorite store was american eagle. you know, back when a size "12" was "fat." (now i probably couldn't even squeeze into a size 14 at AE!) before i got pregnant (again), my favorite store was coldwater creek. now that i am pregnant, i'd have to say my favorite store is motherhood maternity (obviously), but it comes in with a close tie to old navy and target (really, those are the only 3 stores that have a decent selection of maternity clothes for less than the price of an arm and a leg).
well, i've discovered i have a new favorite shopping spot, and it isn't where anything fits me. it is gymboree. i LOVE that store. their little boy clothes are just the cutest around... and trust me, i've looked! we have our family/maternity/oneyear photos coming up hopefully by the first of october, and i've been on a mad hunt to find something kendal can wear that isn't #1 too summery, #2 isn't too wintery or hot (since the lights in a studio can be scortching), and #3 we can match (for our family shots). i read that it is best if the parents wear solid color and long sleeve (so skin color doesn't distract from the photo).
i've looked high and low for something cute for kendal to wear, but something "different" (i.e., neither preppy nor sporty). when i say i looked everywhere, i mean everywhere! janie and jack, childrens place, gapkids, kohls, target, walmart, belk, dillards, saks, macys, etc. etc. etc. and even more places online! there isn't a gymboree at triangle town center (where i do 95% of my mall shopping), but i got a coupon in the mail the other day so i looked it up online. i loved the clothes they had on the web, so i wanted to go to the store and check them out... gymboree was where i found his birthday outfit(s)!!! they were all on MAJOR sale - plus i had the 20% off total sale coupon! yay!
i'm sure their little girls clothes are cute too. i haven't ventured over to that side of the store yet.

Yes, the girls stuff is adorable too! But the best thing about gymboree is their sales - they are AWESOME!
