singing in the spigot

sunday, dad and the kids and i went on a walk through duncan's place and on the way back, kendal stopped to sing into a "microphone" which happened to be a above-ground connect for the irrigation system.  he sang and sang and then holly ran to another (shorter) one and sang into that one.  unfortunately, my card was full at that point and i couldn't delete fast enough to catch more video.  it was HILAROUS!!!!

i am currently processing all the holiday pictures.  that takes lots of time since i had over 300.  but, i have a photoshoot on friday so i have to get it done by then so i can reformat my card!  :)  i'll post blogs of pictures for holly's birthday, christmas pictures, and the snow as they come available!

videos don't require processing.  this morning, kendal and holly were playing with the baseball game and they were just singing away (singing the baseball game song - that is what they call it).  sometimes they sing it together, sometimes they take turns singing it.  they probably sang it 10 times before i got my camera to record it.  so, this one lacked the volume and energy as the previous times... but it was still cute.

favorite song

kendal and holly have a favorite song, and that song is "muffin man".  i was lucky enough to catch kendal singing it tonight while he was playing with his trains.

 

incidentally, i asked nathaniel the other day "in your mind, what does the muffin man look like?"  he said the pillsbury dough man.  in my head he looks like a gingerbread man for some reason.  what does the muffin man look like to you?  (without overthinking it to be a muffin with arms... really, from your childhood, what did you picture the muffin man looking like?)

trip to RDU

kendal, holly, and i took an outing over to the RDU observation last week and rather than taking 70 to lumley road like i usually do, i went over to briar creek because i had to get lunch (we went to moe's because #1 they have cheese ques. that the kids can eat and #2 beans plus salad that i can eat). so after we left there, we went down the briar creek parkway over to lumley road and crossed over I540.  when we got to the runways, kendal said "go that way!" and actually pointed the right way to go to the observation area.


they were super excited for about the first 10 minutes, but there was another mom and 2 kids there and those 2 kids were running all around up and down the access ramp (accessing the parking lot to the observation deck) and kendal and holly wanted to run up and down it too - and i wouldn't let them. so, we had drama until those kids left.  then another kid showed up and he was excited about the airplanes but by that point kendal wanted to go home.

spaghetti: no forks allowed!

holly REALLY enjoyed eating dinner last night.  after a week (or two), she has finally gotten her appetite back.  i forgot just how much she eats. like today at lunch, she ate all her lunch and then finished what kendal didn't eat too. and, he doesn't have an appetite so he hadn't eaten much at all.  she's a little pig!  but, i always remind myself that she's a mover unlike kendal at her age!  ;)

the holly peek show

holly's favorite thing to do is play peek-a-boo. well, let me back up here. she's outgrown pretty much all of her 9 month clothes (at 7-1/2 months of age) so nathaniel went up into the attic last week to get down the bags of 12 month and up clothes we had in-waiting for her. good thing, too, because there were a lot of cute summer clothes in there that fit her right now. this shirt dress, in particular, has doubled as a blanket (well, most dresses do, she likes to hold them up to her face when she sleeps). tonight, though, it started to become a prop in a game of peek-a-boo! (note that she won't pull her shirt down until i say "where's holly?" or "peek-a-boo!") she also plays this game with my blanket (yes, i sleep with a blanket, i use it as a pillow..., or the sheets. sometimes she gets carried away with it and will cover herself too far with the sheets and i'll find her screaming and kicking because she can't uncover herself. its sad, but funny. did you know that she will NOT sleep without covers??? just like her mama. ha. she won't even sleep without her mama!)

went to the RDU OBservation deck today. kendal loves airplaines. you can see him watch them take off... say airplaine, and also "see it!" he loved it. and, we haven't stopped watching the videos since we got home!!!
